BIO

Emily Johansson was born in Malmö, Sweden, and was a creative child who liked being by herself and sing and write. She wrote shows that she cast herself and her friends in, and they performed in front of family and relatives. She started taking acting classes once a week at the age of 9. As a teenager she performed in several amateur productions.
Her major subject in high school was drama.
A few years followed where Emily decided to discover other things in life. She worked as an au pair in Paris for a couple of months, she took a bachelor degree in Sociology at the University of Lund and she spent 8 months backpacking in South east Asia and Australia.
But she couldn't hold back her need for acting any longer and decided to take private classes in method acting. That made her even more convinced to pursue acting full time. The following years she attended Katrinebergs 2 year acting program where she studied Stanislavskijs system and Ivana Chubbucks method acting. During these years she also acted in three different shows for Lilith Performance studio in Malmö and right after graduation she had a part in the musical "Oliver!" at Kristianstad City Theatre.
Then she wanted to learn more about method acting and packed her bags to go to New York and study at the legendary Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute for 2 years. There she was taught the method as developed by Lee Strasberg, who has worked with countless well-known and respected actors. After graduation she stayed and worked professionally as an actress both on stage and on film. A year after graduation she had starred in 12 short films and 4 plays in NYC.
Emily recently came back to Malmö where she is continuing her career in theatre and film.
